New Feature : 4 name servers per domain

Until now IraNIC was using two names servers for each .ir domain.

We have just launched the ability of defining up to Four name servers per domain. This will allow multi location companies to set more name servers from each of their domains.

Payment Gateway Issue . Resolved

Starting 8 PM Tehran Times on Tuesday, the Saman Bank Payment gateway is experiencing a downtime. This is affecting real-time new domain registration and domain renewal. We are working on the issue but this is not much we can do as the problem is sourced by Saman Bank Gateway. Hopefully the problem will be solved very soon.

We will update this post as we get more information.

Update : The issue has been resolved early morning around 10 AM by the saman gateway.

Failure in Domain Registration and Renewal - Resolved

Today Oct 7th 2012, Iranic is experiencing an issue with new domain registration orders and renewal. Iranic is working on the issue and it will be solved in the next 24 hours. Other services of Iran like domain management has no issue. This post will be updated once the issue is resolved.

Average Monthly Domain Gain : 6822 Domains

Its almost 3% domain gain per month or around 25% domain increase only in 8 month ! This is a remarkble success for .ir domain ccTLD. Part of this success could come from the lower price of .IR domains comparing to gTLD domains. Currently .ir domains are being sold for around 50,000 IRR  to Iranians citizens as comparing to over 300,000 IRR for gTLD domains. Because of currency fluctuation, many people now prefer .ir domains over gTLD domains.

Below is the daily chart of total .ir domains during the month of Aug 2012.  As we see at end of July 2012 the total number of ir domains was 275,113 and on last day of August 2012 the total number of .ir domains has been increased to 282,836 . That means over 257 .ir domain gain per day which is remarkable.

.ir ccTLD Whois Change : Showing expiry date

Starting July 22, 2012, whois policy for .ir domains will be changed and it will show the current expiry date of a domain. So far this information was only available for owner and reseller of the domain but now it will be similar to other gTLD whois and expiry date will be a public information on whois.

To get the whois information of a .ir domain, you may use whois.iranic.com .
